For the past several years, Steinwall has proudly sponsored the Coon Rapids High School Robotics Team.
Sponsoring this team allows a group of students each year to explore their interest in robotics and automation. The students are able to hone their robotics skills and use their creativity to design and build a functioning robot that completes a specific task assigned to them for that year.
The CRHS Robotics Team recently came to Steinwall to showcase this year’s project. They presented the steps taken to create and build their design. Then, they demonstrated how their robot worked. The task assigned to them this year was to get the robot off of a platform and see how many hatch panels the robot could attach to the “cargo ship” within a certain amount of time. Steinwall is very proud of the CRHS Robotics Team, as they went to both state and nationals!
Steinwall is committed to technical education and is dedicated to supporting not only the youth in the community, but the advancement of our own internal team. Within Steinwall, our automation team has grown substantially over the past year and we strive to find automated solutions for our own internal processes. The use of end of arm tooling, vision systems, and collaborative robots have helped to streamline our production processes. Collaboration with these student engineers helps ensure strong automation competencies in Steinwall’s future.
